KATIG or bantangan is the Filipino term for outrigger, a protecting structure of a boat which provides additional stability. KATIG is composed of past servant youth leaders of the Quezon City North Ecclesiastical District Parish Youth Ministry (QCNED-PYM) under the Archdiocese of Manila (until 2003) and the Novaliches Diocesan Parish Youth Ministry Parish Youth Ministry (NDPYM) from 2003 to present.

The organization was brought about by the desire of past servant youth leaders to continue serving the youth and the church in the parishes of the Diocese of Novaliches.

We see in the boat the image of the youth journeying with us, the society and the Church. The water that is symbolic of the society today. The changing winds strongly blowing in the horizon can cause that boat to drift away. At times the winds can get rough and the boat unsteady.

We have taken the name KATIG to symbolize our aspiration t help the youth leaders and the youth in the Diocese of Novaliches in general.

We hope to emulate the ever reliable KATIG that provides stability to our boat against the challenges hurled by the rough waves and the strong winds being faced by the youth today.
